Website Construction Finished

Our website construction is now complete.  While we'll continue to add more content such as self help documents the basic layout of the site is done with the final editon of our new menu system!  Soon our Recommends section, which is our online store of Polarverse recommended applications, will also be converted to the new format.  http://www.polarverse.com 

Free of Backing up the dreaded Outlook PST File

When Polarverse switched to Google Apps for Business at the beginning of 2010 the appeal was we could continue to use outlook and not worry about the need to backup PST files anymore (the PST file contains all your settings and email history for Outlook).  Shortly after making the switch we started to use the web client more and more often; especially since it has the unique feature of having an "offline" copy and by last summer we stopped using Outlook all together.  This gave us so much more freedom for now any and every computer we log into, no matter where we are, is the same as it was when we logged in at the last computer.  Nothing ever out of sync - email, calendar and contacts always up to date!

When we made the original switch we only migrated over the current PST file from outlook and didn't bring over our previous years' archives.  Every once in a while we would need to fire up Outlook to find something from the old PSTs.  But what if something happened to those old PST files?  What if the backup was no good?  What about the space they are taking up in my backups which I pay for by the GB?  It occured to us that this was a silly way of doing things since in Gmail we have 25 GB of space available and were only using 1 GB for current; and our historic PST files equaled 4 GB.  Using the Googles migration tool we copied everything from the old PST files up to Gmail and now we can index/search everything in one place and today bit the bullet and deleted the old PST files!

Facebook Shutting Down March 15th - Hoax

You may have received an email or come across a post that Facebook is shutting down on March 15th.  The rumor started from a tabloid website called "Weekly World News" stating Facebook will end on March 15th though they also report that Aliens spaceships are on their way to attack earth this year so I'm less worried about facebook now. :D

Happy New Year!

We're excited to share that we've uploaded our new website!  This new design, while still in construction phase, is faster and more simpler than how our old site was setup.  http://www.polarverse.com

Chat! - You'll see a link "Chat with Polarverse" just under our seal. We've utilized Google Chat and best of all you don't have to sign-up or have a Google account to use it!

Help Desk: Access to our ticket system, current clients can now view current and previous tickets and a web form for new clients to get setup.

Remote Help: We've improved this feature to make it easier for you to start a session

Self Help: While we still have a number of documents to setup and convert from our old system we've made the documents more friendly for you with bigger text and icons at the top of each page to allow you to share, email or print!

Search: You can search on a keyword or phrase for our entire site.

Sitemap:  While this is still being put together it is functioning; when finished this will be like a table of contents to our site.
