Disable User Account Control(UAC)

Many find UAC to be a nuisance with constant popup windows asking you "Do you want to allow the following program....." but you may not know that you can disable UAC but note disabling UAC makes windows less secure. I only recommend doing this if you have a good internet security package such as Trend Micro Internet Security installed.

Disable UAC on Windows 7

It is fairly simple to disable UAC in 7 and if you don't want to disable it completely you can adjust it to make it less chatty.

1. Go to the Control Panel: Click Start then Control Panel

2. In the "Search Control Panel" box in the top right corner type: UAC

search control panel

3. Click on "Change User Account Control Settings"

4. If you drag the slider to the bottom "Never Notify" this will completely disable UAC. (moving the slider to other positions will also decrease/increase how often you are notified)
